A few things to know that will enhance your practice and study of yoga.
Please:
-Remove your shoes at the door, we practice with bare feet, it keeps the floors cleaner.
-Leave your cell phone in your car, or turn it off.
-Come with an empty stomach (at least 1 1/2 hours after your last meal), unless a medical condition prevents this.
-Keep water bottles off to the side, it helps us to protect the finish of the wood floors.
-Try to come early to class, if you are late please take a breath, and quietly sit by the door until movement has begun again. Leave your things at the bench, keep your practice area uncluttered.
-Bring your own mat, it's more hygenic. We do have some loaner mats and mats for sale!
-Come to class clean...no perfumes or cologne, they can be very strong during an active yoga class.
-avoid coming to class under the influence of any intoxicants...it can be unsafe and offensive to the other students.
-Wear comfortable (fitted) exercise clothing.
-Ask questions if anything seems unclear.
-Please notify the instructor of any health issues before class. Not every pose is appropriate for all bodies.
-"Leave your ego at the door", yoga is non-competitive...it is, after all, just practice. Rest when you feel overwhelmed.
-Yoga is for everyone. No experience necessary. Foot-behind-the-head pose NOT required.
-Try to stay for the whole class. If you must leave early, please tell the instructor and leave before Savasana (final relaxation.)
-Remember, "Practice makes practice."
Blessings to you!
